Last year, I started using the Notebook of Doom in my classroom as part of my language arts program and I absolutely love it! Troy Cunnings does such a good job of using maps and other fun pictures to hide hints and give the readers clues as to what might happen next. This novel study walks students through some of the fun and exciting parts Alexander's adventure with the Balloon Goons.
I love how he uses maps to really help students get into the setting of the story and visualize what kind of place Stermont is to live.
He also does a great job giving kids a chance to use their imagination with his descriptions and drawings.

I'd love to hear what activities you have done with these books. We are just starting the 4th book in the series in my classroom next week.
