As you may know, I am classroom teacher turned homeschool teacher. In the classroom, I had kids take notes every lesson, so that they were able to work through the problems by themselves at home. Last year we took notes in a notebook, and the kids spent lots of time setting up their pages. This year I decided to try and save them some time so that we could increase learning time, but still have the tools they need to complete their work, so I decided to make some Math Notes Pages.
I started with our normal notes page:
This is how I've been having the kids set up their pages for a while. I like that there is room on top for vocabulary, and that there is a place to write out the steps and show examples. But as I have been teaching this year, I realized I kept crossing things off and adding new sections so that I could teach them multiple ways to solve the problems.
As the year went on, I realized that we needed a page for more than one way to solve a problem. With our common core standards, and all of the different learning styles out there, we take notes on multiple ways to solve problems often, and I wanted to give my kids a set up that was easy to fill in and understand.
.
During our several of our chapters, we teach kids how to do more than one thing. I ended up adding another page to save room and organize this situation.

Let me know if you have any other ideas for math notes set ups. I love having the pre done pages. It saves us so much time, and gets the kids to the important part of the lesson faster.
